I have been at Nelson and Colne College Group for nearly 20 years, originally starting as PTHP cover for a maternity leave. I became a permanent member of staff on a fractional contract after two years. I’ve held a variety of teaching roles including GCSE Science, A Level Biology, A Level Human Biology and Vocational Science. In my role, I get a mixed variety of interesting tasks and challenges. I manage and create management reports for individual departments, which gives me the opportunity to make decisions and identify any findings, and I have an excellent team who support me through any difficulties I may come across and always have a positive attitude to succeed.

The highlight of my job at the moment is making a huge difference to the educational experience of students in my division.
